We’re diving right into the fresh and fit season and a lot of us are looking to make a few extra boosts to our health regimen! One word that a lot of people have mixed feelings about is “detox”. There are tons of flash fad detoxes, some of them downright dangerous to attempt, so I’m here to set the record straight. Detoxing can be super beneficial when done for the right reasons and in the right way. Just a few tweaks are all you need to start feeling more “spring-y”!

When Life Gives You Lemons

Make a little spritzer! Lemon water is super simple and actually does a ton for detoxing. Just the addition of a few sliced lemons to your recommended eight glasses boosts your body’s ability to flush out toxins, thanks to the antioxidants from this citrusy fruit. This concoction works overtime, with both the peel and the juice of the lemon fighting to stimulate liver enzymes for kicking pollutants to the curb.

I’m A Be-Liver

Who knew your liver was such a powerhouse! After the long holiday months, all of that drinking and feasting can result in built-up fatty deposits on your liver. I know, yuck, right? BUT simple solution time! Just a couple of almonds, a few handfuls a day, do wonders for you. Just a few almonds a day can actually do a ton for liver cancer prevention, as they contain certain vitamins stuffed inside that fight off those nasty cells. Basically, the takeaway of the day is your liver is your new best friend and should be taken care of as such!

One, Two, Tea

Along with the detoxing, a little tummy work is always appreciated. Enter white tea, the sort of two for one deal you’re hunting for! White tea, as well as green, is responsible for boosting the metabolism which helps you win the everlasting battle of staving off belly fat. White tea especially can boost lipolysis, aka burn away those fat cells in your tummy. I’d say this is a win-win-WIN.

These little tweaks to your health plan may not seem like much, but with some commitment, you’ll start down the track to a healthier, cleaner lifestyle. It’s super simple to take care of your body when you make the first steps and stick with it.
