What You Already Know

Can I tell you something? There was one thing I didn’t realize when I first started working one-on-one with people who want to improve their health, who are sick of feeling less than amazing, and those who are confused about who to listen to for advice.

Here it is:  Most of us already know what we need to be doing to improve our health!

There is a lot of information (and misinformation) when it comes to the foods we eat and the things we need to do to be healthy. Just look at the variety of books in the ‘diet’ and ‘health’ sections of your local or online bookstore. But when it comes down to it, we still know the basic things we should be doing to improve our health.

In fact, when I ask my clients, friends and family members “What are three things you think you could be doing, to improve your health?”, I get these three similar answers each time:

  1. Be more active
  2. Stop eating _______,  drinking ________ (or quit smoking!)
  3. Eat more vegetables.

Would you agree that we intuitively know how to make ourselves well? But when it comes to implementing these steps – that’s where we fall apart. I know!! I have done it, too, and sometimes I still do it. A nutritionist I might be, but I’m still human! There are times I don’t eat as well as I know I can.

What obstacles are standing in your way? Maybe you work long hours and cooking a healthy meal seems too time-consuming, or perhaps you feel that the price of healthy food is too high. You may discover that you aren’t sure if you deserve to feel amazing. Sometimes it’s about not knowing where to begin, and you need someone to guide you on your wellness journey (that’s where I come in – email me!).

Find Your Obstacles

I’m going to give you a small assignment if you’re up for it. For the next week take five minutes (not ten, not twenty, not one – just five) to think, reflect, and journal on these obstacles. Knowing your obstacles, habits, and patterns will help you figure out how to work around them! You can do anything for five minutes, right? If it’s helpful to set a reminder on your phone or computer or to set a timer for five minutes to reflect – go for it! You’re worth it!

I would love to read your comments below. Tell me what is stopping you. Let’s work it out together!

P.S. Just want to let you know I’ll be offering a free webinar, “How To Eat Healthy When You Have No Time” next Thursday, March 2nd at 6 pm PST. It’s just the ticket to help you remove some of the obstacles to improving your health! Click here to register.
