Losing weight healthily (or even unhealthily) for most of us has a negative connotation. And for good reason, right? Losing weight can be hard. Especially, when you have had previous failures; and haven’t we all? So, let me share what works for me and so many of my clients.

Work on ONE change at a time

Starting a new habit, or rather getting rid of one is a daunting thought. With that comes anxiety, stress, resistance…the list goes on. So how are you to be successful when it comes to weight loss? Rather than thinking of weight loss as a WHOLE, I want you to think of it as small pieces so that you can work on those pieces one at a time.

Where do I begin?

First, let’s talk about where to start…There are so many places to start (and why it can be so overwhelming), but most of my clients like to start with the SWAP. So, here’s what I mean. Let’s say you typically run through the drive-thru for breakfast every morning or eat a bagel with cream cheese in the breakroom. Try swapping out the #1 combo meal with a healthy breakfast prepared at home. Or instead of that bagel, make some scrambled eggs with veggies. I post weekly recipes on my Facebook page to give you lots of ideas. Like my page HERE.

Work on one change at a time and only that ONE change – in this example, the one change was breakfast. Once you have Mastered that one change, then focus on the next change and so on.

Scrambled Eggs with Tomato and Avocado
Serves 1

2 eggs
1 tablespoon coconut oil
sea salt and black pepper to taste
1 small tomato, sliced
½ avocado, sliced

Instructions:
Crack the eggs into a small bowl. Using a fork or whisk, beat the eggs until the yolks and egg whites are uniform. Set the eggs to the side. Place a pan over medium heat and add coconut oil. When the coconut oil is melted, add the eggs. Use a rubber spatula to fold the eggs towards the center until you no longer see any liquid (about 3 minutes). Season with salt and pepper as you fold. When the eggs are done, serve on a plate with sliced tomato and avocado.

Enjoy!

To your health,
Patti
