Do you know what today is? Today is a new day. It’s your second chance. It’s July – and true, the first half of the year is gone, but there are still six amazing months left of opportunities. Opportunities to get back on track if you have fallen off. Opportunities to make the decision to start. Opportunities to take things to the new level.
So, what do you say? Are you ready to step up your health?
First, let’s take a hard look at your health. How would you rate your health on a scale of 1 – 10? What does healthy mean to you? Be truthful in your answers. Chances are there is room for improvement. Perhaps you are not meeting YOUR definition of healthy. The good news is that YOU have everything in you to step up your health. You have time to meet your goals.
Maybe you have given up; you’ve forgotten those goals that you set at the beginning of the year. Maybe you didn’t set any goals because you were afraid to fail. Whatever your reasoning – this is your second chance.
So, let’s talk about those tips now:
- Set those Goals and write them down. Be realistic. Six months is a significant amount of time to reach REALISTIC goals.
- Shift your Mindset. Know and understand your why. This will keep you going even on those days you don’t want to drink another smoothie or go to the gym.
- Have a Plan. You have your goals, but without an airtight plan, guess where those goals will go. This doesn’t have to be time-consuming or difficult. I like to grab a weekly calendar and plan out my week. When it’s time to go to the gym or the grocery store most of the work is already done, so the stress is gone.
- Minimize Stress. So, speaking of stress…this can be a huge underlying cause of weight gain for a lot of people. Especially around the stomach area. Pray. Read. Breathe. Take a bath. Know what keeps your stress levels down and be sure to pencil in some self-care time and commit to it.
- Be Consistent. If you have incorporated more plant-based foods in your diet, make it a point to be consistent. If you decide to go to the gym three times a week, stay true to your commitment.
As you can see, healthy can come in many forms, and you only need a few minutes to do this each day. Give these tips a try and come January 1, you will have new and improved goals – rather than the same ole’ goals from the year before.
To your health,
Patti
